Overall Review

I love this album. I've had it on repeat for the past two weeks and can't get enough of it. This is a classic Blink record, 3 seconds into Cynical and you just know it's going to be brilliant and it's them. But fresher. I loved all the songs but to shorten my favourites list down I'd say I much prefer Bored To Death, No Future, Home Is Such a Lonely Place and Left Alone. I do love California and Los Angeles, too, I get this teenage/young Blink vibe from them which is cool despite some of the cheesy lyrics.
Is it my favourite Blink 182 album? Maybe, maybe not. I think their older stuff is a lot better, but the album is a whole is probably up there with their best. We have to give credit to the fact that they did lose a band member, too, and were joined by Matt Skiba from Alkaline Trio which can be difficult in the music industry. A lot of Blink fans were worried after Tom Delonge's exit, nevertheless, Skiba's harmonies alongside Hoppus were great and I can't seem to fault him at all.

Overall Review

Where do I even start? This is probably my favourite album of 2016 so far. Every single song on this album reaches the highest of expectations and this may even be their best album yet. Although, I do really love Pretty. Odd. Nevertheless, this album is incredible and is definitely in my top 5. The lyrics, melodies, instruments, vocals, harmonies (I could go on...) are all outstanding. My favourites are... well, every song. I honestly can't choose, they're all equally as great and I just find it so hard to choose a favourite! This an album full of emotion, incredible and powerful rhythm and the atmosphere as a whole is brilliant. I would love to hear the album live to really experience it, but until then, I'll just keep listening!

I've been a fan of Alessia Cara since her song 'Here' was released, and after waiting months for more music, her EP 'Four Pink Walls' was released, and then of course, this beautiful masterpiece was thrown into the world late last year.

This album is one of the best albums ever written, in my opinion. Alessia's voice is so beautiful and unique, her lyrics are incredible and I can relate to her so much. I think she's an incredible artist. My favourite songs are definitely Seventeen, Outlaws, Wild Things, Stone, Scars To Your Beautiful and My Song.
One of the main reasons why I love My Song, is that although it's mainly about Alessia's career and the way in which she's fighting for her free will, to be able to think for herself, be herself and doing what she wants, and in one part she's talking about being real - no auto-tune, cover ups and so on - it can also to relate to normal life. For example, people are constantly telling me what to do, with my life and career, my decisions, what I say and so on, making sure I don't make mistakes when really, I'm human, I'm going to make mistakes. "Just stick to the melody and stay between the lines" - this sounds a lot like someone saying "Just have a normal and good paying job, do what everyone else does, blah, blah". But, no, I'll do what's best for me. I think the lyrics in this song really speak to me. A simple way to summarize - we're not societies robots. We don't all want to be the same thing, do the same thing. We have control over our own lives and future and so on.
Also, Scars To Your Beautiful is a song that's very close to my heart. I think the lyrics also speaks for itself, they're thoughtful and acknowledge how hard it is to love and appreciate yourself, but also reminding you that you are beautiful.

I think it is more than safe to say that Alessia is such a talented young artist and this is just the beginning.

Overall Review

First of all, let me just say that Simple Plan has been one of my favourite bands since I was a kid thanks to my uncle for having the best music taste, so when I heard that they were releasing a new album I was over the moon.
This is one of their best albums yet, I might even say it's my favourite! Simple Plan never fail to amaze me with their music. I Refuse is definitely my favourite song off the album, as well as Opinion Overload and I Don't Wanna Be Sad - there isn't a song that I don't like. The lyrics are incredible throughout the album, and some are so relatable and mean a lot to me.
I absolutely love the collab with Juliet Simms for I Dream About You, truly beautiful, this song definitely pulls the band into a different territory, love it! I highly recommend you listen to Taking One For The Team if you haven't already, believe me, you're missing out. From a fan of many, many years, well done to the band on this album.

Once again.. Hello, World.

As explained in my last post I am reviewing/talking about my favourite lyrics from certain albums for the next week or so. Today of course, is Made in the AM by One Direction.








Overall Review

My favourites from this album are If I Could Fly, Long Way Down, Olivia, History, Walking in the Wind, Wolves and AM.
Each song is SO different, throughout the entire album you really get a sense of what the boys are about, what they've experienced and how truly incredible each individual voice is. This album is so different compared to their past albums which I absolutely love. I think that if you asked me to write a post like this for Up All Night, I would've struggled as Made in the AM is so lyrically advanced compared to UAN. They've developed incredibly well as songwriters/musicians and singers and even after the stressful year they've had, they have delivered an album which is impossible not to love and at such a high standard. There really isn't a song from this album that I don't like and I honestly think that if non-one direction fans listened to this and for once, ignored the idiotic articles that are constantly being printed each week, then they would think much differently of this band as a whole and realise how talented they are.
