Wonderland

She felt alone,

like no one understood the sheer depths 

of her mind

they told her she was mad

'mad, off your head' they would say

and so she pretended it was all okay

but as she grew up

her imagination running wild

her curiosity growing bigger and bigger

and the hurricane inside her

begging her to explore her mind,
she decided to travel far and wide

until she found herself

and felt whole

but somewhere along the way

she fell down a rabbit hole

she tumbled and fell

down, down,down

into the depths of which she thought

was hell

but she found a new place

a place where everything felt new

yet familiar

she felt safe

she found herself

she found wonderland

but it wasn't a place,

it was a feeling
